This will be two day blog.

Every one of us are different? Unique. Selling your uniqueness will make or break your career.

What makes you different…from everyone else?

Step One

Before you can sell your uniqueness you need to identify it.

Is it your ideas? Communication skills? Positive attitude? Toughness? Willingness to go extra mile? Intense interest in what’s going on around you? Interest in others? Your attention to detail? Your ability to read people? Ability to see what others don’t?  Other?

CTA: Take 5 minutes. Write down ways you consider yourself unique. Don’t worry about prioritizing them. Don’t worry whether they are business, career or personal. Just write them down.

Set list aside for day or two (but no longer.) Review the list. Cross out those that don’t describe you.  Add new.

Step Two

Arrange your list into Business, Career, Personal, and other categories. Broad general categories.

Step Three

CTA: Write down 1-3 accomplishments for each. Write which of your unique traits, from Step 1, each accomplishment addresses.

Set list aside for 1 day. As in Step One, review. Cross out and add.

CTA: Check off those that make you unique. (Which are you better at than your peers?)

Beside each, write down how it makes you unique. Just use word or two. Go back to your Step One list.

Coming tomorrow: Writing your unique sales proposition.
