Thought arresting article. Leaders talk about Executive Perspective. But rarely define what it is.

Kim points out that organizations with “clearest executive judgement” will standout in age of AI. She sights 5 factors.

5 factors that go into Executive Perspective

  • Executive judgement is critical. AI can expand a leaders options. But can’t determine which actions require action.

  • Tough questions are being asked of AI as it be comes an operating structure.

AI is beyond the infant stage. Now at least in toddler stage. Where habits have to start. To be instilled. Patterns established. Discipline. Like toddlers, there have to be boundaries and consequences. AI boundaries are which decisions should AI be allowed. Where does human judgement need to come in.

Kim points out big challenge in executive perspective? Unresolved decisions. Those often lead to friction. The team does not expect unresolved decisions from leaders. Unresolved leads to confusion.

It’s up to leaders to determine which actions deserve and require action. 2026 that means measurable results from AI.

  • We are hearing “trust” brought up more often in relation to AI. There’s the trust in the AI performing as planned. There is also the trust factor in the leader implementing AI. Is there confidence that leader understands the AI being implemented?

  • Relationship leader has with team(s) becomes critical.

  • Is the leader known to have good judgment and discernment. Are they known for their vision.. The culture they produce.

Thinking through the article, these 5 factors apply to all areas of leadership. AI has not changed the basics. It is a new tool to apply. Yes, it is fast and can be decisive. But same should be said of leaders. They are leaders because of their vision, judgement and ability to inspire, motivate,  and energize their teams. AI, at this point, is just another tool.
